Flippers
Flippers, bigger the better I think. I have Decathlon black and blue flippers they are the best! Here is a tip, when you buy shoes you normal buy one size up so they last longer and really good quality. With flippers that is not the case, well buying good quality is but you if the flippers are to small they will crush your feet and will be painful to swim in, on the other hand if they are to big when you kick they will just fall off, so be careful when pick a pair of flippers. Finding fins that fit can be something of an odyssey. Fins manufactured in the Far East often “run small”. Some pairs marked, say, “UK size 10-12″ may only, in practice, fit somebody with feet two sizes smaller. Be sure to try fins on for size before you buy them and check whether the foot pocket is spacious enough to accommodate your foot length and width as well as the height of your arches. I love my Mexican Escualo Clasica fins because they match my foot dimensions exactly.
The open toes at the end of the foot pockets are designed to increase comfort, but toes protruding too far through the openings will eventually tear the sides of the toe openings. Check at the time of purchase that each foot pocket accommodates your entire foot, including toes.
Fins that are slightly too big can be secured with three-way straps called fin grips, fin retainers, fin keeps or sometimes “fixe-palmes”, as they are known in France, where they were invented in the early 1960s. They fit over the heel, instep and arch of full-foot fins and come in at least three sizes. Fin grips are popular with players of underwater hockey, a fast and furious contact sport which can lead to the dislodgement of loosely fitting fins.

Swimming bags, I would recommend your club bag.
It is always good to have a club bag because you are supporting your club as well as financially, mentally it shows you are a team player and it looks good when you go to a gala and the whole squad had the same bag with there club on, it is also showing that you are “one” one team and one unit. I could also be advertising, if you are walking down the street to your training session and a want – to – be swimmer sees it they might want to join your club.
Swimming Hats / Caps

Hats / Caps:
Hats, well you can not really do anything about swimming caps / hats really apart from buy a good quality thick silicone hat and after training or gala put talcum powder in it or wash it out. Silicone hats are ten times better than plastic and last ten times longer. Plastic caps tend to ripe when you are putting it on and it is hard and hurts when you take it off. My favourite hats are Speedo; they last for a long time and they do some really lovely colours.
Below is a picture of a new style of swimming cap that is new out on the market, they are called dome hats because they are shaped like a dome, I have never tried one, but as soon as I do, I will write a review for you guys.

Swimming Goggles

Goggles
Goggles are the hardest item of equipment to buy, I am suck with my maru pair nothing could be better or even equal too my maru goggles in my opinion. They are perfect in every possible way, they do not get blurry, they are tinted so in out door pools and in the summer the sun does not hurt my eyes. I wear them to training, races and even take them on holiday with me and so easy to adjust. I have had my mirror pulse maru goggles now for two years and unlike most goggles I can see out of them now the same as on the first day I got them. However these goggles fit me, but this may not be the case for you reading this now, you might need a small nose bridge or bigger eye sockets or curved around goggles, you get my drift. What I am trying to say is it is so hard to find goggles that fit your face so when you do find them buy lots so if they go out of stock and you lose them you have back up. Another tip it is better if you try on the goggles. If you see a really lovely pair on Maru’s website or Speedo’s website or swim shop’s website find a friend or member of your swimming club with them goggles and ask to try them on. If they are good there is high chance someone will have them. By Olivia.

Swimming Costumes
Hi my name is Olivia, during my swimming time I have had quite a few training and racing swimming costumes to stay the least. This is my advice for training swimming costumes to get the most for your money. My top costume is an Uglies. Starting from £15 admitally it is fairly expensive, but a regular Uglies costume could potentially last one whole year. I train five days a week for 1 hour in my much loved Uglies costume. In the last year I have had three Uglies costumes and I could still be wearing the first costume now which is still like new. The only reason I changed my costume is because fashion had moved on and they had a new really pretty collection.
I also love their drag shorts collection. I got a pair for Christmas this year, so unfortunately it would not be fair to give a full report of these as I have only owned a pair for a couple of weeks now. However from the time I have had to swim in them they are great. They go fantastically with my Uglies costume and fit me perfectly after I tie a bow in them. A fabulous buy.
