Swimming Tips
Swimming Tips 1 - stretching is one of the most important warm ups for swimmers. If you do not stretch you could pull a muscle and not be able to swim or worse so it is very important stretch. It is also very import because it warms up your muscles as you can perform better in training and a race.
Swimming Tips 2 - your mind-set at a gala is more important than how you swim. you will swim as good as you want you are thinking. if you are thinking: “oh my god I am swimming up against her and I am going to lose.” you are going to lose, make a fall of your self swim rubbish and not get a PB. However if you think this: I am swimming agents her, great I can show every one that I can bet her. Than you are you to win, and get a lot of praise. Which one are you going to choose?
Swimming Tips 3 – Watch older swimmers, as there is always room for improvement in your swimming. Really study their stroke and try it in your next swimming session, if is work (makes you swim faster) great, use it as often as possible. However, if it does not work do not be disheartened and find another technique that better suits you or ask the swimmer how to do it properly.
Swimming Tips 4 - drink lots of water while you are swimming, you do not want to dehydrate. half the time you do not even know you are dehydrated, so it is very important to drink lots while you are swimming.
Swimming Tips 5 - Remember to relax and have fun. If all you are worried about is your times and your technique then you are no longer enjoying being in the water. Have fun is the main thing, after all it is your hobbie.
Swimming Tips 6 – Blow bubbles, blowing bubbles is an easy breathing technique. It may sound silly but, it works great.
Swimming Tips 7 – For your dive, push-off the block as hard as you can with your feet.
Swimming Tips 8 – Before you practice swimming faster, practice perfecting your technique. It is the perfect technique that must work with speed to win the competitions.
Swimming Tips 9 - If you lose a race do not be disheartened, come back fighting, if you lose your race, win the next one do not get upset about it, if you have tried your best then there is nothing you can do about it apart from put in 150% into your training and by your next race you will be unbeatable.
Swimming Tips 10 - In a race it will make you swim faster if you reduce you’re breathing; on the other hand do not stop it all together as that is dangerous. Aim to do about ten breaths in 25m front crawl.
Swimming Tips 11 - Don’t forget to “warm down” after swim training, to let your boay recover. Studies have shown warming down also decreases sudden heart attacks due to over-training.
Swimming Tips 12 - I would recommend you to buy: A kick flot, pull flot, hand paddles and flippers, to help you improve in your kick and pulling skills. Please look under equipment, to see my personal review of these items.
Swimming Tips 13 - Make the most out of your race, use every pull and kick to its full potantal, swim as hard as possible and give it your all.
Swimming Tips 14 - When you swim backstroke you must keep your head still! If you move your head your body will follow and you will be swimming up the pool in a zig zag.
Swimming Tips 15 - Butterfly is the hardest stroke so don’t get discouraged if it’s too hard. One of the things that can help is if you make sure you keep your arms straight and get your head down.
